Where do you hold your team meeting? Team FoodieMag dxb are incredibly lucky to be able to work from anywhere and typically we spend of our week working at home and some working at various locations. Every Sunday morning we hold our regular team meeting and each week we try to work from somewhere different. This gives us the opportunity to try you experiences, check out new cuisine and do some work at the same time, we do love to multi task! Not only do we get to eat or drink something new, but we also get inspired by trying new places and locations.
LARTE – D3
Last week we visited D3 for a breakfast meeting. This was our first visit to D3, yes we know we are a bit late for this one, and it definitely won’t be the last. As well as some of the usual F&B brands, we also spotted some small unique and different restaurants and cafes which are worthy of a return visit and further exploration.
Breakfast took us to LARTE, an Italian restaurant showcasing traditional Italian dishes and lighter Mediterranean flavours. We loved the beautiful bright interiors and gorgeous decor and enjoyed the vibe of this beautifully designed space. LARTE is bright, light and modern with quirky beautiful decor and designer features everywhere. Not to mention quite a few magazines and books to while away our time. We sat inside on some beautiful sunshine yellow seating which is guaranteed to brighten up your mood. Those wishing to dine outdoors were enjoying the perfect Dubai winter weather on the terrace, as well as getting a chance for some people watching. Note – outside next time!
Oh how we swooned over this produce.
Breakfast
I’m still following my ketogenic eating plan (low carb, high fat and moderate protein) so was limited to savoury options from the breakfast menu. I chose Black Truffle Scrambled Eggs, Baby Spinach, served with small spinach leaves on top of a bed of creamy scrambled eggs on some delicious looking bread. I also had a really good sausage on the side, which was meaty and full of flavour, it’s not the most photogenic of sausages but it tasted great. Unfortunately I had to discard the bread which looked beautiful – the joys of Keto but I’m feeling so good on it, it’s a compromise I’m happy to make! Ishita had Italian Shakshouka which I’m told was great. If I wasn’t following the Keto plan, my choice of breakfast would be between Chestnut Waffles with Chantilly, Stracciatella Cannoli, who can resist? or French Toast Panettone.
Drinks and Dessert
The team were very obliging with my coffee order, finding cream and steaming it so it could be added to my Illy Americano coffee. Everything was done with a smile despite my quirky request. Ishita was tempted withL ARTE Bueno dessert, the house special which she tucked into with gusto declaring it light, not too sweet, chocolatey and a perfect dessert. Our meeting overflowed to lunchtime, but sadly we were too full to stay and to try some of the other dishes on the menu, although we were tempted! We’re told the Lasagna made for sharing is exceptionally good and just like “mama would make it” and are also pleased to hear that LARTE holds a full alcohol licence for those wishing to pair their meal with some vino etc. Pizza was missing from the menu, but we’re told the pizza oven is coming soon. Actually reading the menu, I would be tempted with a selection of antipasti.
Working Inspiration
We loved the co-working shared table which also contained a vinyl record player in the centre allowing you to plug into some retro vinyl should you wish. The bright and airy restaurant area was perfect too. Free Wifi, good coffee and affordable prices mean this is somewhere you could certainly work from if you are in the area. As a location, it’s hard to imagine us just ‘dropping by’ unless there was another reason to be in the area. As an aside, the terrace, a cup of coffee and some Italian pastries is also calling us back for another visit if we find ourselves that way.

Decor
LARTE is a very much a designer led space showcasing some exclusively Italian brands from Altagamma members: Artemide lighting, Bisazza ceramics, Alias and Desalto furniture. We had plenty to look at it , albeit would be easy to be slightly distracted from our team meeting, but overall it’s beautifully created curated space which comes together as one restaurant with four distinct areas – a counter service ‘caffe’, a terrace, a bar and ‘trattoria’.
Stop Press: If you are in the area or want to drop by, LARTE has just launched Ah.Pe.Ró evenings offering 2-for-1 on handcrafted Italian Aperitivi drinks and a selection of grape, paired with an assortment of complimentary nibbles and bites, between 5-8pm. Saluté
