Black Salt is set to mark its presence in the ever growing food & beverage industry of new Sharjah with its prime focus on providing superior hospitality and scrumptious global comfort food, coupled with an inspirational modern ambiance. Our culinary expert and executive chefs were given complete liberty to showcase their talent learnt during their extensive travelling around the world in search of unique recipes and progressive cooking techniques.

Our kitchen is fully equipped with state of the art cooking technology such as the legendary Josper oven from Italy which is a natural coal fired combination of oven and grill, along with Michellin starred chefs’ favourite Sous Vide system that helps our culinary team to cook everything to a precise temperature.

What or who is the inspiration behind your start-up?

We travelled to various regions of the world starting from the borders of the Mediterranean Sea to Caspian Sea to Halong Bay in search for modern restaurants serving global comfort food. Our inspiration comes from all those amazing eateries scattered around the globe which are product of pure love for food.

Tell us why your business is the “best thing since sliced bread”

At Black Salt, we have no secrets, we just strive to use top quality hand-picked ingredients in order to produce the best quality dishes. We have tried to maintain simplicity where needed along with adding an essence of molecular gastronomy to make your dining experience not only a treat to the palate but also to the other four senses.

Who is your hero in the restaurant business – the one that you aspire to be?

It has to be Dishoom in London

What is your favorite item on your menu and why?

It’s one of the most difficult questions to answer, I wish we had one favourite dish from the menu. Now that you’ve asked, I think it’ll be Wings of Fire which is a combination of boneless chicken wings, butter popcorn and curly fries.

What (lessons) have you learnt along the way that you would like to share with other foodpreneurs?

Never hesitate to introduce new dining concepts, people are always looking for a change. Always take multiple opinions on your concept and stick to your core strategy no matter what.
