French Mediterranean inspired dishes and unique cocktails by Chef Izu Ani
Carine the new dining spot at Emirates Golf Club
Let the photos do the talking – gorgeous looking Mediterranean inspired dishes that were tasty too
By Debbie Rogers:
Relaxing weekend lunches are something we relish and instead of heading to brunch we took the opportunity to head to Emirates Golf Club which is now home to Chef Izu Ani’s latest opening Carine.
It’s a bright summers day and the restaurant interior beckons us in. Whilst its super hot and sunny outside, inside the interiors are bright, white, chilled and welcoming. Carine has been beautifully decorated and is certainly in sync with his distinctive branding. The views across the Golf club are gorgeous and whilst we enjoy them from inside, a a quick wander around the outside terrace and bar area later, indicate that they are are sure to be a hit when it’s cooler.
We allow our waiter to make suggestions for us. Everything is good he says, so we eventually decide on Grilled harissa prawns
and Tuna carpaccio, citrus dressing and grape relish (so good we ordered a second portion).
We struggled for choice here, plenty of dishes that we fancied, but in the end we plumped for Roasted filet of seabass with tomato sauce and sumac rice which was packed with hearty flavors yet still delicate enough to allow the fish to be the star of the show. Next came Grilled lamb cutlets with spiced aubergine a good sized portion and nothing to complain about.
We ask for one of Izu’s signature desserts which is a favorite the Passionfruit cheesecake which delivers exactly what we are looking for a in a cheesecake. Izu’s team send us out a few other desserts, including a tasty Tiramisu to try too and we leave with fully bellies and a happy smile on our face.
Carine, is a lovely addition to Emirates Golf Club which has added a few different dining options to it’s portfolio recently. The outdoor terrace with views of the golf course is lovely and we urge you to enjoy it. We’re a big fan of Izu’s design features allowing you to chat to the Chefs as they put the finishing touches to our dish.
As a final sign off, indoors, our dining experience was a little noisy due to the acoustics and lack of fabrics, we’re told new curtains are being installed which will help.
