With the stunning Burj Khalifa at the backdrop, the new venue of the recently concluded Street Nights Dubai not only added the extra oomph factor, but also the extra space to accommodate more vendors. Already into its fifth season, this popular street-culture event features local musicians, artists busy in live painting and a celebration of home-grown food outlets.
From a line up of more than 20 local restaurants and food trucks in this event, our options this time were unlimited. However, our top mention would have to be Burger House, the Abu Dhabi based food truck. As we chatted to Ahmed Al Marzouki, the founder, he treated us to the sliders – showing off the special buns that complement his home made sauce that is drizzled into into his sliders. Our other picks would be truffle fries at Moylo’s Burger, dynamite shrimp at Whizz, the sweet potato fries at Yumtingz, the onion bhajis at Moti Roti, sage ravioli at Nais Kitchen, pulled lamb and grilled haloumi at our all time favourite Ghaf Kitchen (oh how we missed their Eton Mess this time) and our first attempt of Colombian street food at Arepa Loca and fried ice cream.
Lovely weather, great food vibe, lots of colours and the Night Bazaar coming into life with unique art wares and gift items, not to mention the popular popular ‘Bboy’-ing… we look forward to the next edition of Street Nights Dubai!
