Joe Mortimer is a UK-based travel and lifestyle journalist. After spending five writing about luxury travel and editing stories written by others, Joe quit his comfortable job in Dubai, sold his worldly belongings and set off on a journey around South and Central America. “It’s Volcan Acatenango in Guatemala, on the outskirts of the colonial city of Antigua. I started climbing it at midnight and arrived at the summit, half-frozen, just before the dawn. Watching the sun creep over the horizon and form silhouettes of the other surrounding volcanoes made it worth all the effort.”
