I attended the launch of a new contemporary Lebanese restaurant at Atlantis, The Palm. Ayamna meaning the ‘Good Old Days’ is located in the same space as Levantine used to occupy and has a completely new contemporary look and feel which I much prefer.
Outdoors there is a lovely shisha terrace with pretty lights and plenty of seating which where we enjoyed pre dinner drinks and canapés. Heading indoors we were served a wide range of hot and cold appetisers, a selection of grills and a selection of desserts. Whilst the dishes are mainly traditional in taste, and most of what we tasted was pretty good, they are served in a modern contemporary way with little twists every now and again, expect to see prawns baked in Kilner jars, salted caramel sauce poured from arabic coffee pots over a rich date pudding and some beautiful plates and table settings which add to the contemporary feel.
The menu consists of the usual traditional Lebanese dishes you would expect to find on the menu with a focus on fresh seasonal produce, along with some House Specials. There’s also entertainment which comes in the form of live music and Bellydancing.
[Dine from an A La Carte Menu, with prices being typical for a five star hotel]
